Bayview, Seddon
A refined reinterpretation of inner-city living, this residence draws bold geometry and warm materiality into a cohesive whole. At the heart of the home sits a perforated steel spiral staircase, powder-coated in a rich yellow tone which anchors the open plan living zone and links both levels with sculptural presence.
Timber ceilings and joinery in oak impart warmth and tactility across the spaces, while burnished concrete floors and crisp white walls maintain an understated clarity. Skylights and full-height glazing bring northern light deep into the plan, accentuating the dynamic interplay of solid and void.
Externally, a crisp white tiled façade is offset by vertical timber cladding and a cantilevered bridge form that defines the entry courtyard. Every junction, finish and material transition was delivered with the precision and care that sits at the core of Fortier’s craft ethos.
